Frankfurt Airrail-center (600m long)

Airrail center
construction start: November 2006
Lenghts = 600 m
Width = 65 meters
first renters: KPMG (40,000 qm), two Hilton Hotels, Medical Center diverse food outlets and shops

The airrail center will be build on top of the high-speed train station just next to Frankfurt international airport. It will be connected to germanies most important motorway interchange.

Great building, it looks like this building was inspired by the ING Group HQ in Amsterdam:

When I was in frankfurt they already have a good underground metro/ice line under the terminal thecy could use that instead of building this monster. Any ways hope it'll be built cuz its so cool.

They will continue to use the ICE train station. The airrail center will be build on top of that. It was alaways planed this way but they had to find an investor first.

I don't like the shape. But the inside looks really nice, with the waterfall and plants.

I like it, and am glad the construction has finally started. The current, half finished train station just looked stupid. With this on top and completing the structure, it will be quite pleasant.

Let's hope they build it faster than the shopping mall on the Zeil - which must be the slowest construction site in the developed world.
