Near Tajrish Square

Tajrish Square- The gateway to the north part of the city. I love this area the most in Tehran and I always hang out here when I am in Tehran. Major Tehran streets flow into this square filled with shops, parks and awesome restaurants and is great for people watching. Plus from here you can get taxis and busses to all over Tehran.

Tandis shopping mall in Tajrish square. A very cool place to hang out.

Vali Asr Square

Jamshidiyeh Park

Mt. Damavand North of Tehran and Tehran in the foreground

Darband Area

Tehran is full of these creeks that originate from the mountains in the north of the city

Wearing veil in tehran.

As you may all know in Iran after the revolution 30 years ago the Islamic government took over and they require all women to at a scarf to cover their hair as well as an overcoat, which sucks, but this is how it looks.

It used to be worse at first. They wanted women to have long overcoats but thanks to strong and brave women activists at least they have come up with these shorter over coats and less of a hasle in wearing scarves.

But Iran is a very safe place for all tourists and very fun and filled with amazing historic sites not in Tehran since it's a modern city but in other historic cities of the country.

When I was in Tehran this summer I tried to take a picture of the huge Mobile phone model to to the bottom centre of this pic but I couldn't get a good shot but this one is kind of cool

Beautiful pictures

Alitezar, what lovely beautiful pictures! Thank you very much! Now I want to visit your beautiful city in the worst way. I especially liked the way most of the buildings are painted white which gives the city a cool, clean, and unified look. My favorite pictures where of the residential street with trees planted on both sides and also the festively lit terraced restaurant ... it looks like a nice place to eat out! The large traffic circle with the modern buildings (very nice glassy buildings I might add!) had a fountain that did not appear particulary beautiful ... that fountain could be improved upon, in my opinion.

I like to read about history and travel around the world ... although not yet to Iran ... and I am aware of the rich and wonderful history and culture of Persia. When you hear of negative things coming from this side of the world please understand it is directed against some of your leaders and elements in your government -- not against the Iranian people or it's culture. Recently your leader was in New York to speak to the United Nations (the same guy who stated "Israel must be destroyed!" and "There are no gay people in Iran") .... no offense, but what an evil guy! BUT a silly politician does not diminish the fine cultured people of your country nor the majestic history and heritage your land has contributed to the world's patrimony.

Again, thank you!

Thank you for your kind comment and I totally understand your point about the president and governmnet but what can we do. They have gained so much power in the coutry by hiring very wild and cruel guards from Arabic countries that even don't speak Persian so that if anyone protests against the government in Iran they hit them so hard and throw people in jail that hardly anyone dares to protest especially women who want freedom from the stupid dress code.
