bump, just to keep this on the front page. Are there any news regarding the actual building of the towers? Last I heard they're investigating the company was there a result?

Ma confidante faces bribery charges
CORRUPTION:Lai Su-ju, who runs President Ma Ying-jeou’s KMT office, says the NT$1 million she received from a public project bidder was a political donation

The Taipei Prosecutors’ Office yesterday sought the court’s permission to detain a Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Taipei City councilor known for her close ties to President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九), on suspicion of accepting bribes in the bidding process for the Taipei Twin Towers project.

Lai Su-ju (賴素如), a lawyer and former KMT spokeswoman who now runs Ma’s KMT chairman’s office, was accused of promising to help a multinational consortium win the bid for the project in exchange for NT$10 million (US$334,520)...

Corruption by KMT causes entire bid delay for another year. The part build by Taiwan Railway will finish in 2015. The two main building will depend on bidding progress.

i dont see how they can open and operate the railway terminal while building an entire skyscraper on top of it. that terminal probably wont open until the towers are completed whenever that will be. this gate of taipei has become the GATE OF HELL!!

They will open the station while building the towers. That was the plan from the first place.

Taipei city government is negotiating with 2nd rank bidder at the moment. However, government has required more requirements from bidder, include plan of tranportation hub integration in area.

If bidder does not accpet the requirements, Taipei city government will stop negotiation and launch new bid.
