The decision about the RT height was made when the FT was lower (and some other skyscrapers around too). Luzhkov (mayor) had 3 possibilities to choose from: 612, 750 and 1000.
If he had to make the decision now he would choose 750 at least
Still I hope the RT will follow the new Russian skyscraper tradition: the final hight will grow while the construction. which corresponds to another old Russian saying: appetite comes with eating.

I dont remember who did this pic. I hope it shows how big the base is compared to the construction site.

As in it is a tall building?

There's not a whole lot of other similarities.

It's surprising they built all of those temporary buildings in the middle of the construction site since they'll have to be taken down before the building starts to rise. Certainly looks like a big waste of time and money.

Based on this I'm assuming the foundations for the three corners will be very extensive and take a long time to build.

Do you think, in order to save money it would have been better to build those temporary buildings aside and keep them forever?
PS Do you know what 'temporary' means?

612 m Tower is very very tall for a City with no skycraper cluster , only now it makes more and more sense for RT to be there because of other supertalls are on the way surrounding it ,atleast it won't be so lonely like Taipei 501 , after this they can go higher according to the Mayor of Moscow in the ceremony of this Tower ground breaking last september

Well I would certainly think they would be built in a location where they could be left until the building was finished. Where they're located they will have to be demolished before the building can rise which sounds pretty stupid IMHO. And to answer your question I do know what temporary means.

Don't be so emotional guys This is a project being carried out by Foster ,with a long list of buildings around the world there must be a reason for them set up things like this in the "middle of no where"due to construction experiences after all these years ,maybe someone will tickled by this and come out to give us an explaination

Do you think the constructors are more stupid than you? (as far as the construction is concerned)
All the temporary buildings in the middle (you are worried about) are called temporary because they are temporary. They are used to construct the slurry wall by a slurry wall company that was hired to build the slurry wall only. The works take place NOT in the middle of the plot, but along the perimeter. When the slurry wall is built the company will leave the plot with their equipment. The temporary buildings (for instance, the separator) will be demolished becaused it can be used only for the separation works. A special liquid is used to pump out the ground. In order to reuse it again it's necessary to separate the liquid from the pieces of ground, stones etc.

That special liquid your talking about is slurry, a mixture of bentonite and water. They don't insert it to pump out the ground, but as a replacement of the soil they're excavating. The bentonite will prevent the hole from collapsing before the concrete is poured in.

Right. But I thought it is used not only to prevent the hole from collapsing. I did not say about this role of the bentonite, because I was explaining what the separator was for.
So, do you think another liquid is used to pump out the ground?

This render is stunning but it doesn't show the right hight of the Russia Tower. It shows the height around 300 m - only the half of the real hight. The photo was taken from the Federation tower, that is 240 m tall.
Taking into consideration that the Russia Tower is going to be 612 m, the render should have been made over a photo shot from a helicopter
