I guess that the hight can be increased in future like it was with Burj Dubai, anyway I've read somewhere that the foundation slab will be for 1000m version

Does this mean someone else can have the original SOM designed Russia Tower? I want it for Sydney. The SOM design is one that shouldn't go to waste. Another that comes to mind is the Kowloon MTR Tower (replaced with Union Square) and Grollo Tower. So many great towers go begging.

I am not sure about the foundation slab itself (that would be great) but the footprint is the same area for both.

I definately think Foster's design for this tower looks far better. Its a very nice addition to Moscow's growing skyline.

I doubt there will be a foundation slab. The slab for the lowest basement will probably be just a slab (raft or similar) on ground. The columns and load bearing walls will prabably have pad gootings and piers or piles to rock.

This is just FYI.

geology research should be completed by january 2007. structure works was expecting to begin in 18 months from approval. it's november 2007. so i think they will start to work on the wall in ground just after geology research.
