How is the construction going?
The last two proposals are horrendous! Glad they picked a nice one!

This is THE final design selected today.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I really like it, more than previous designs. I like the way how the top part curves down to the old city hall.

Inside looks cool. I do not like the buildings external aesthetics though. This is really what they chose?

I think it's great they didn't try to integrate the two city halls together and keep them visually separated. It has a look!

I prefer the wave!! LOL... It's less 'classic' thus.. Hmm. If they use some high-quality reflective material on the surface, it should blend in quite well I think (better than on the render).

![]() Cool~ I just noticed that they did something to the grass in front to make it look like a wave also. The city hall looks like a giant tidal wave hitting the water.

This plan adapted the shape of eaves from traditional Korean houses... I think the Cultural Heritage Administration cannot reject it any more since their incompetence has been revealed through burning down of Namdaemun.

I like the new design!!! I think Seoul can differentiate itself from other world cities by constructing buildings that have unique designs. Some of my favorites are this new city hall building, the Boutique Monaco, S-Trenue, etc I think Seoul needs more "less-boxy" skyscrapers or buildings >_< |

Oh no! It really becomes worse! The top can be glassy, but the facade should be classical style.
This metal and glass is this corporate style without soul, not good for a public governance building.

I'm actually not very fond of this design, but I hope my opinion changes when it is completed.

i think its alright...
can't really say anything definitive about it as the renderings are crap still, i have a feeling that it'll become a significant landmark for Seoul if it turns out good |

are they trying to flood the Japanese-built old city hall? If they hate it so much why don't they just demolish that old ugly building?

They'd rather do it in a subtle way, well, if you consider a giant tsunami shaped building looming over the old city hall building subtle.

i think its because of the old city hall's historic values
when the krn government was getting rid of the 조선총독부, i remember a lot of people complaining that a big piece of korean history, however painful, was being forever demolished. |
