I also get e-mail notifications now, even though they are disabled in options.. kind of annoying.

This will be fixed, right?

I think I figured out how to get around that...just click on view all subscribed threads in your user cp and then you should see something on the right side which indicates whether or not you want to be notified. Just mark all threads and click on "no notification" in the drop down menu (or whatever you call it).

If you're paranoid about it there's a simple solution, click on "Quick Links" and "Mark Forums Read" before you log off. Then when you come back, only new and updated threads will be marked unread.

As for the E-mail problems, I'm wondering if the system is still flushing old e-mails. Apparently the e-mails haven't been working for a very, very long time and now that I've fixed it it's trying to push out everything it couldn't.

Thanks Kampflamm!
I didn't pay attention to that drop down menu before, although it makes a lot of sense looking there.

It would be nice if new thread subscriptions defaulted to no e-mail notification. I guess nost people would want it that way!?

And good job on making SSC fast again DaiTengu. It was worth the wait!

I'm using Netscape 7.02 (didn't realize there were so few of us left). Anyway, I am noticing over the last several days that messages are still being marked as unread, so right now I am looking at messages that are unread three or four days ago even though I have been there this morning. It makes it much, much harder to tell what has been posted since you last visited. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it on my end?

Thanks for proving my point, Your Cloudship! See the previous page for more posts on this phenomenon.

@DaeTengu: this has nothing to do with paranoia. Big Brother was simply a figure of speech.

OK, the Edit feature still doesn't seem to work, not immediately upon posting and not at a later point either. At least that's my experience.

I can't reproduce this, it's working fine for me.

Try clearing your browser cache. If that doesn't work, please let me know exactly what's happening and what browser you're using.

Thanks.

Edit: this is an edit.

DaiTengu maybe you can like to know Jelsoft has released VB 3.6.2

Quote:
The vBulletin team is always keen to stay on top of newly discovered problems in the software and when a potential data-loss flaw was discovered in vBulletin 3.6.1 a patch was released within hours.

This release includes that patch, along with fixes for a number of other problems and glitches that have been found along the way.

Although this is not a security-driven release, it does nonetheless contain resolutions for several important bugs and we would recommend that all customers upgrade to 3.6.2 at their earliest convenience.

Edit: this is an edit.
As I said in Post #73 on the previous page, I invariably get "501 - Not Implemented" when I try.

That is, when I attempted to edit my last post just now, the edit screen did appear. I use Firefox.

The 501 errors should be fixed, or at least very few, and very far between now. Only during the most busiest of times will anyone see a 501, and that's only to keep the server from crashing.

If you get a 501 error, try doing a "hard refresh" hold down Ctl, Shift and push R.

Hi DaiTengu, i see some problems with encoding, some pages are OK with Western European (ISO) and others with UTF-8 and some have strange chars with ISO and with UTF-8.

Thread updates in User CP seems a bit unreliable, while Subscribed Threads works as expected.

This unread thing is really annoying. Why not just put it back to the way it has always been?
