I hope they don't get in trouble with Paris, the company managing the tower has the it trademarked, and nobody can build anything close to it without their approval, so that they don't get cheap replicas built everywhere.... like this one

During the overlay at Heathrow on my way to Bulgaria, I picked up a CNN Traveler magazine. In it I saw advertizements of some of these golf resorts.

I don't know what to think of it. On one side, I am happy that Bulgaria has decided to brand itself as a golf destination. There is certainly a lot of money in this sport and hopefully we'll steer away from the package tourism. On the other, it hurts me to see the beautiful northern coast destroyed.

Thanks Turnovec! Great updates.

Оh , you talking to me Don't know if you heard about this development : Aheloy Beach Residence... I was shocked when i saw the plans for it ... As i have such a bright childhood memories how i used to go there fishing in the delta of the Aheloy river with my father ... And now all this will be just another concrete resort ...

Take a look at another development on the black sea - Saint Tomas - at the beautifull Arkutino beach ... it used to be such a nice and wild place there ...

Saint Toma Video

They cant build on the island in sozopol! Its so pretty and desserted. I really hate the Santa Marina construction near sozopol, they should leave the area around Sozopol alone!!

Theyre for eveyone and theyre not too expensive. HOW DARE THEY BUILD AROUND ARKUTINO! Isn't that a nature reserve?? First they ruin the north coast and now the south. Its totally disgraceful. Theyre ruining my happy magical childhood memories too. I always used to go to Bulgaria on summer holidays mainly to Sozopol and the area around there on holiday. So does this mean theres going to be any unspoilt beaches left???

I think Bansko was the first to bear the negative effects of the impeding "eco-terrorism". By no means I approve it, but I really wonder what are those *great investor* guys going to do if some retarded eco-activist decides to plant a bomb into one of their hotels, hopefully off-season... These *seaside development news* somehow make me afraid of the future. The only thing that calms me down to some extent is the news I hear from some people that live in Italy and Spain...there they have similar problems. I've been in Turkey too, for a summer holiday, they have the same problems just like we do, too... So perhaps we are not so unique, the whole region gets fscked up quickly...

Im gonna be one of those ppl who plants a bomb if they dont stop. Spain was ruined twenty years ago. The problem with black sea coast in Bulgaria is its quite small and wont take long to be totally ruined, which I think it has now that Arkutino has construction on it. There is now officialy zero beaches left unspoilt in Bulgaria.

This beautifull areas will be totaly destroyed by .... our "goverment"

Well last year, it was accounted that 1/3 of all property deals in BG were involving foreigners...so I guess that 2/3 of the property deals were made with BG citizens, although in some of the complex the majority are foreigners.

@Anto

I think that you are mistaken St. Kirik island with St. Ivan. St. Ivan is the nice one with the monastery ruins, while St.Kirik was the military based with the buildings connected with the mainland (the old city). St. Kirik is the of one on the far right.

@bgrs

I totally agree with you. I am personnaly not really happy with the whole ATAKA phenomenon that was boosted in BG...but I understand why people voted for them...17 years and that criminal is still playing us...of course he is not the only one (there many other Bulgarian politicians that do the same), but he is unique...when we have proof that he contributed to terrorist attacks in the late 80s, I simply don't undertsand how he is still not in jail...the mysteries of Bulgarian law

That's not pain, that's disgust. It's awful to wish someone's death, but I really would be very glad if some mafia guy exterminates this parasite...HE JUST SUCKS!!! And if he does not stop, a lot of Turks will suffer badly and that's very very BAD! I wish that mean parasite have never been born, screw him. I'll vote for anyone that promise that he'll never ally with him.

And yeah, the socialists are stupid scum too. Dumb idiots, now that's your pensions and income increase, that's your won war against crime and corruption, FSCK OFF ALL OF YOU!!!

Well I don't like Dogan too, but I'll tell you one storey.

In middle 80's he was trained by communists to prevent the the deviding of Kardjali from Bulgaria.

He've done his job almost perfectly

Of course he takes his portion from the mass plunder of Bulgaria.

And now he is one of the strongest persons in Bulgaria. He conrols 1/3 of the country.
