That sounds pretty cool, including the park.

If they want precedent, look at the suburbs of Vancouver and Toronto, which have many suburban high-rise districts. Or Bellevue.

Suburban high-rises and other areas of urban density can be a deep market. There's a pent-up supply of people who want walkability, proximity, views, etc., but think real cities are icky.

WOW! That sounds great! Congrats to Hillsboro!

I won't be surprised if Hillsboro become another Bellevue that once was suburban community into separate city from inner city. Bellevue is no longer part of Seattle suburbs since it became an independant city from Seattle. I am sure Hillsboro will do the same thing with Portland. Go Hillsboro!

Hillsboro is already a separate city.

Are you sure? If it is so, why do I kept hearing people called Hillsboro a surburban community not a city? Also I know a several people who lives there and commute to downtown Portland for work by MAX.

I'm positive. Again, I live in Hillsboro. Those people are wrong just like people who confuse the word "elevation" to "altitude".

i live directly in this affected area

so it will be VERY interesting to see everything progress

i just cant wait for all of the street improvements to come!

so far hillsboro is just alot of BLVD's and parkways...basically a big grid, all of this infill is coming along nicely but i cant wait for it to be complete!

CrazyAboutCities...YES Hillsboro is its own city

but its part of the METRO area.... Hillsboro has its own city planning and everything separate taxes from Portland....

and the MAX runs through many cities through out the metro area....

^I still think the mirabella is too much of a wall, it will decimate the John Ross's downtown views.

I think the rendering makes the top look worse than it will be Dougall, it might not be too bad.

Since the building is a retirement/nursing home, I doubt it will have public space for restaurants and such, maybe at the street level on the town home building.

WOW! BEAUTIFUL!!! Everytime I go though Portland to my second home in Bend, Oregon, I always see many constructions going on at downtown Portland area. I really love this new building... I am not sure what it is called... You know round building on south waterfront that is almost completed? I think that building would look much better if they add ummm I am not sure what is right vocabulary for it... You know sharp pole that put on the side of top round crown to make it look sharp or more futuristic. Also adding character to Portland Skyline. One perfect example of that idea is Two Union Square in downtown Seattle. Do you understand what I mean? I hope I am clear.
