282 m? That's awesome for Calgary if it happens. That would make it almost as tall as First Canadian Place in Toronto. Let's hope it's a great design like the Bow.

Almost as tall as the Eiffel Tower too! Cool

And hopefully they will someday be the first Canadian city to break up with the tradition of not going further than 282 meters and set a new limit on 320m!

The rumoured building is supposedly 286.6m/940'. There are supposedly high end hotels looking at locations in and around the core, but trying to partner with a developer to build condos as well. So the project would likely be mixed-use.
But of course, anyone can propose anything. Getting it built is another...

Anyway, Camera 1 at the Bow has been cleaned. We can see the clear glass being installed at the bottom:

Is this really Calgary? ;-)
the new condos up in front look so Vancouverish!
Rather not see more of such in future. They can come up with better design themselves.

Today was an important milestone for Calgary's skyline, as the Bow has officially become the tallest building, with 18 metres left to go.

Bow tower set to become Calgary's tallest building this afternoon

By Dan Healing, Calgary Herald July 8, 2010 2:03 PM

CALGARY- Between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, a 14-metre-long piece of steel girder — no different than the hundreds of pieces already in place — will officially make the Bow tower the tallest building in Calgary.

The girder will be the first link in the steel skeleton that makes up the 55th through 57th floors, extending its skyward reach beyond the 52 storeys of the nearby Suncor Energy Centre

“It will be a vertical piece of steel three floors long,” said Michael Brown, associate vice-president with developer Matthews Southwest.

“Anywhere in Calgary you’re going to see that piece of steel standing up there. It will be sitting in the centre of the building. The way we approach construction on the Bow is we build up the middle and then we tie in the sides.”

The Bow will be 728 feet — that’s 218 metres — by the end of the day. Near the end of September, it is scheduled to “top-off” at 58 storeys and the exterior glass “curtain wall” is to be in place by Christmas.

I love The Calgary skyline, but with EAP and The Bow it takes it to another level! There is not to many American cities if any that are Calgary's size that can beat Calgary's skyline!

and what does suprise me over and over again? EAP should be shorter than the Bankers Hall I and II but yet, it appears to be taller! According to Skyscraperpage.com, EAP counts 49 floors, while BH I and II 51! ...so how come EAP looks taller? FACT: is taller!

I can't wait for EAP II to be built too and hopefully, hopefully, sometime soon, Herald Square too shall get built.

Oh yes, by far, starting soon, Denver and/or Cincinati or Charlotte, NC, can no longer compete with this skyline!

One or two more of such and hopefully between 60 and 65 floors and it ll be an even more awesome Metropolitan city.
