I agree about the need for open space in front of the Town Hall. The existing roundabout needs to be slightly diverted and covered up further around to allow the traffic to keep moving but to give us a new square.

so the big multi story carpark opposite baskerville house would go..where would people park? plus dont you think the building replacing it would be a bit isolated..what with a road separating it from the rest of the scheme.. maybe a second pedestrian bridge would be in order.
love the idea of this area being done up though, specially with towers like that being talked of

Underground parking might be the most probable idea.

I was imagining the view from Arena Tower to a lit up and reclad Paradise Circus. As it stands you can only really appreciate the incredible design of it as you come up to it from Victoria Square and that's just one corner. If it was done up and you could see that kind of BirminghamGuggenheimforBeginners shape from all sides I think people would like it. |

Paradise Circus
With the talk of the new library being announced. I look forward to hearing more about this. The thing I like about this sceme is it is such a busy pedestrian area everyone stands to benefit. |

I also hope they do this soon, however people have been telling me that we will not be expecting a proposal until about 2010. I really hope not.

Well, they can't do anything until both the New Library and New Conservatoire are completed and all that stuff is moved away, which will take several years.

We can see proposals and all at any time but for any work to start - well, we've got a good wait on our hands.

To be honest I don't mind waiting a few years for Paradise Circus to be done. I don't think its that bad compared to other areas.
Anyway look at it like this..... in the meantime we've got Eastside, Arena Central, New St Station, Snowhill all massive projects and numerous other medium to large developments to keep us going. Then when all thats complete we'll have the excitement of Paradise Circus! That should keep us going on the forums for another 10-15 years and who knows what will be proposed then.

I have has an invite from the British Council of Offices for a technical tour of Eleven Brindley Place on 30th June.
Also on the agenda is the following:- PARADISE FOUND Gary Taylor, Joint Managing Director of Argent (UK Developments) Ltd will provide a first glimpse into Argent’s ambitions for transforming Paradise Circus. I am going to try to go and will let you all know what is said. |

Whilst this is very interesting and quite exciting, you can almost guarantee that there will be some on here who will absolutely loathe it and somehow blame the council already.

I don't think you can consider demolishing the Madin building without knowing what may replace it. I'm looking forward to finally finding out what they have planned.
Great news indeed. |

When I walked through Paradise Forum this morning I noticed some work being carried out on top of the Conservatoire- looked like a rubbish chute coming from the roof into a skip?
