Yap. I have a booking on MI SUB-SIN in July.
Few days ago I received an SMS, saying that my flight has been rescheduled from 10am to 10.30am. Turns out not only the schedule, but the airlines is changed as well.

News from CNA on new purchase of planes.

Quote:
Singapore Airlines places US$17b order for Airbus, Boeing aircraft
POSTED: 30 May 2013 7:46 PM

Singapore Airlines said on Thursday it will buy 30 Airbus and 30 Boeing aircraft in an order worth more than $17 billion dollars.

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines said on Thursday it will buy 30 Airbus and 30 Boeing aircraft in an order worth more than $17 billion dollars.

"Singapore Airlines has agreed to order 30 more Airbus A350-900s and 30 Boeing 787-10Xs in deals valued at more than US$17 billion," the top Asian carrier said in a statement.

For Airbus, the deal includes an option to purchase 20 more planes in addition to the 30 firm orders. The options can be converted to firm orders for bigger A350-1000s, it said.

The agreement with Boeing comprises 30 firm orders and is conditional upon the US aircraft manufacturer formally launching the B787-10X programme, the airline added.

"Today's aircraft orders are among the biggest in Singapore Airlines' history, helping to ensure that we retain our industry leading position," said the carrier's chief executive Goh Choon Phong.

"They demonstrate our commitment to the Singapore hub and our confidence in the future for premium full-service travel."

I don't think all of them are refitted yet.

Singapore Airlines unveils revamped interiors

Singapore Airlines has unveiled a revamp of the interior of its long-haul passenger jets, which includes changes to seats and its in-flight entertainment system.
In a challenge to Qantas and alliance partner Emirates, Singapore Airlines is spending almost $US150 million ($165 million) on the product refit, which will begin on eight Boeing 777-300 planes.

Yeah, regarding First, I think SQ painted themselves into a corner. Their C products are so good (better or equal with First from some airlines) that the bar is so high. Yet they cannot/dont want make First too good to avoid eating into Suites exclusivity.

But then again, I heard they are considering removing all Suites with this new F. If that's the case, then I really dont understand.

The new J class seat is actually Weber Cirrus (seen on QR, CX, AA) modified and tilted forward facing.

I think there's a confusion as to what First and Business are. Business remains geared for everything a corporate traveller might need - a good sleep ready to go to work the moment you step off the plane, and/or a good work station and service that revolves around that schedule. First on the other hand, is really about the ultimate luxury - pampering, great service. And for many, the feeling of space, and knowing all this space is yours, IS luxury.

Today is the first day of SQ return to Surabaya. Unfortunately, I'm in Medan now, and couldn't see the plane.

I was told that it will use Boeing 777, due to high demand.

If SQ is indeed sending the 777, I dont think it is because of high demand, considering A330 and 772 has similar capacity. Unless SQ sends 773, which is unlikely because it has F.
For Economy Class, actually A330 is better than the 772, as the Airbus has the newer cabin products (seat, IFE), while even the refurb 772 only have older product (only with newer cover)

I see... I'll check it out using FlightBoard to see which aircraft SQ used on the flight. What's the typical aircraft type to be used on the SIN–SUB service?
