No you are not.
I don't like it either, but am reserving judgement until I see them in person.
From my circle, I would say the opinions are divided 50-50.

News from CNA on the passenger numbers for the month.

Quote:
Singapore Airlines' load factor, passenger numbers rose in March
By Kevin Lim, MediaCorp
POSTED: 15 Apr 2015 18:49

SIA carried 2.4 per cent more passengers in March 2015 compared to the same period last year, thanks to increased demand on Southwest Pacific routes.

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) carried more passengers and filled a higher proportion of its seats in March compared to the same period last year, boosted by increased demand on Southwest Pacific routes.

SIA carried 1.546 million passengers last month, up 2.4 per cent from 1.51 million in March 2014, the Singapore flag carrier said in a stock market filing on Wednesday (Apr 15).

Systemwide passenger carriage - as measured in revenue passenger kilometres - increased by 1.2 per cent, while capacity fell by 1 per cent. Consequently, passenger load factor (PLF) improved 1.6 percentage points to 76.6 per cent.

"PLF improved for Southwest Pacific and West Asia/Africa on the back of stronger demand, coupled with capacity consolidation. On the other hand, PLF on East Asia routes declined as capacity growth outstripped demand," SIA said.

The Southwest Pacific region includes Australia and New Zealand. The airline revealed that passenger demand was weaker in the Americas.

Looking ahead, SIA said conditions continued to be challenging. The carrier will redeploy capacity to better match market demand and promotional activities will continue in relevant markets, it added.

No, I wouldn't think they would do that. Btw, Singapore's National Day is on 9/8, not 31/8. They will offer Peranakan meal choices, a Singapore Heritage cuisine, on selected flights for a 3-month period from July. SQ passengers can present their boarding pass for free admission to the Peranakan Museum from July to September too.
