what about another moevenpick after the pearl fiasco?

however Ritz carlton sounds likely , every hotel on the beach had it's extension with either JBR or marina tower or internal expansion except ritz carlton.

I agree could be Ritz, unless Hilton will extend further into the marina market ?

I hope it is not moevenpick, are they 5 * ?

Manager of Ritz said this on 4th Nov:

http://www.ameinfo.com/100737.html

'It transforms the location of this hotel from an isolated spot on Jumeirah Beach into a part of a dynamic downtown with a great range of shops and leisure facilities within walking distance. We think guests will love the amenities of the Dubai Marina.'

The Ritz-Carlton Dubai has decided not to proceed with its own extension plans for the time being, although there is space to allow a west-wing to be added in keeping with the design of the hotel. 'For now we are happy to live without construction,' says Mr. Mainguy.

no i don't think it will be Moevenpick. They are launching 5 new Hotels in Dubai and also one on Jumeirah beach residence.

Look this: http://www.moevenpick-hotels.com/hot...ewdestination/

It most probably to be Ritz Carlton.

Both HILTON and MOEVENPICK have Hotels in JBR, the former was just launched and is a 44F (JBR) tower to be connected with a bridge with the existing beach Hotel.

If the Bay Central will indeed turn out to be a Ritz-Carlton, it make sense for the existing one on the beach, not to expand. Since the extra rooms are being added with someone's elses expences, beach aerea is what they need most.

I have spoken to Dubai Select today re this project. I enquired as to the hotel brand but they said that they could not tell me due to orders from Dubai. They have promised that all those with reservations will be told who the hotel are in the next few days. I also asked about brochures etc seen as the launch has been and gone. They said they have some flyers of the project which were used at the recent launch roadshow in London but the glossy brochures are still not ready. They told me these will be sent out in 2 weeks. I assume this will tie in with the release of the hotel name as I am sure it will be all over the brochure. Has anybody else been told anything different???

too many hotel management companies to choose from, lots of possibilities

Not many of the big ones left though if its not Ritz? DS say it is an instantly recognizable 5 star international chain.

Marriott would be good. They also have some of the most popular serviced apartments, apparently.

Marriott would be OK but Ritz is much more classy! Is Hilton out of the running, perhaps a marina extension?

Ritz is indeed more classy but maybe a bit too classy. And not as a big name in serviced apartments. Hilton would be good though.

Hilton already acquired a JBR block to extend the beach hotel - so unlikely to be Hitlon.

Dennis, the manager of Ritz Carlton Dubai said that the EXISTING building will not be expanded, not that the Ritz Carlton group has no plans to expand in the UAE.

As I already said, not expanding the existing facility will mean they are open to the idea that someone else build a hotel and let them manage it. Bay Central is very close to Ritz Carlton and also since the talk about this specific hotel started, someone in here, who said to know who the hotel chain is, has "dissapeared" from this specific thread, which knowing him, is very strange.

Sometime the silence says more then words would.

I'm stickin with R-C, not that I really care, just for the speculative fun of it.

Not disappeared at all! Just laughing at all the comments here.

BTW, trying to link a suitable 5-star hotel chain with serviced apartments is pointless here, seen as the chain will be taking over the "Hotel - Bay Central"..not the serviced apartments "Bay East".

Not pointless because Bay Central apartments will also be for sale but at 50% higher price than Bay East/West. Although Bay West/East are standard towers they will be linked to the main hotel by association. So if its Ritz or Hilton then it is more attractive to buy there than if it is Econolodge etc.
