I always find that the Turkish flag on the body of THY and AJ planes is too small! It looks a little disproportionate...they should paint some bigger ones.

Sun Express

SunExpress (Turkish: Güneş Ekspres Havacılık A.Ş.) is an airline based in Antalya, Turkey. It operates scheduled and charter flights to destinations in Europe. Its main base is Antalya International Airport (AYT).

The airline was established in October 1989. It started operations in April 1990 with a charter service between Antalya and Frankfurt, Germany. SunExpress was founded as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. In 1995 Lufthansa transferred its SunExpress shares to Condor Airlines, to group all tourist flights under a single unit. In February 2007 Condor shares were retaken by Lufthansa.

The owners of SunExpress are 50% Turkish Airlines and 50% Lufthansa. The airline carried just over 2.358 million passengers in 2006. With 617 employees, 373 of which are flight crew staff, SunExpress is the largest employer in Antalya. Including 181 staff at Izmir office and 23 at Frankfurt, SunExpress employs 821 people in total.

SunExpress operates a fleet of 14 airplanes with an average age of 8.6 years and a seating capacity of 2,796 seats. Plans for the purchase of two new Boeing 737-800s, which will be added to the fleet in April and May 2008, will increase the number of aircraft in the fleet to 16. 12 Boeing airplanes leased by SunExpress are equipped with blended winglets installed by THY Maintenance Center.

Onur Air

Onur Air (Onur Air Taşımacılık AŞ) is an airline based in İstanbul, Turkey. It operates charter services throughout Europe, as well as scheduled domestic services since deregulation of the local airline market. Its main base is Atatürk International Airport, İstanbul.[1]

The airline was established in 1992 and started operations in May 1992. It began with two leased Airbus A320 aircraft. In 2003 it launched its low-fare domestic services. It is owned by Cankut Bagona (33.3%), Chairman and Chief Executive, Hayri Içli (33.3%) and Unsal Tulbentci (33.3%).It carries some 1.4 million passengers a year

Pegasus Airlines

Pegasus Airlines (Pegasus Hava Taşımacılığı A.Ş.) is an airline based in Istanbul, Turkey. It operates holiday charter flights to Turkish resorts from around 100 destinations in 17 countries, scheduled services to 17 domestic destinations and 13 destinations in Europe and on demand charters and ACMI leases. Its main base is Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Istanbul, with a hub at Antalya Airport.

The airline was established on 1 December 1989 and started operations on 15 April 1990. It was owned by Aer Lingus, but was sold in 1994 to Yapı Kredi (Yapı ve Kredi Bankası A.Ş.). It is now owned by Esas Holding (85%) and Silkar Holding A.Ş. (15%).

Pegasus Airlines is one of the biggest charter companies in Turkey with a passenger capacity of more than 4 million passengers per year

AtlasJet

Atlasjet is an airline based in Istanbul, Turkey. It operates domestic scheduled passenger services and regular charter flights to Europe, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates. It serves Germany on behalf of Öger Tours. Its main base is Atatürk International Airport, Istanbul, with hubs at Adnan Menderes Airport, İzmir and Antalya Airport.

The airline was established on 14 March 2001 and started operations on 1 June 2001. Formerly known as Atlasjet International Airlines, it was set up as a subsidiary of Öger Holdings. In 2004 ETS Group acquired a 45% stake, increased in February 2006 to 90% when it acquired Öger's 45% holding. IzAir (İzmir Hava Yolları)

İZair is an airline based in İzmir, Turkey. It operates scheduled and charter, international and domestic, passenger services. Its main base is Adnan Menderes Airport, Izmir.

The airline was established in 2005 as Izmir Hava Yollari by a group of businessmen from İzmir. It started operations on 14 June 2006.It should be noted that nowadays Izair is being operated as a subsidiary of Pegasus Airlines.

FlyAir but didn´t exist anymore

Fly Air (Turkish: Fly Havayolu Taşımacılık A.Ş.) was a private airline based in Istanbul, Turkey. It was originally a charter airline, but also operated scheduled services.

The airline ceased operations in January 2007.

The airline was established and started operations in 2002 with holiday charter flights and added scheduled services in October 2003. It was launched on the back of charter carrier Air Anatolia and operates in co-operation with the Trabzon-based Peksen Group. For Fly Air is it forbidden to fly to Europe, they don't listen to the safety-list








The Fly Air fleet consisted of the following aircraft (at May 2007):

2x Boeing 737-500

Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii TAI tarafından geliştirilen özgün Hedef Uçak Platformu "Turna", kardeş kuruluş Eskişehir merkezli TUSAŞ Motor Sanayii (TEI) tasarımı özgün turboprop motoruyla ilk uçuşunu başarıyla yaptı. Havacılık alanında dışa bağımlılığın azaltılması ve yurtiçi faydanın sağlanması için yerli uçak-yerli motor entegrasyonu amacıyla TUSAŞ ve TEI arasında 11 Eylül 2007’de protokol imzalanmıştı.

İtiş gücü 90 libre olan ve dakikada 6 bin 500 devirlik motor, Turna’nın performansını da artırıyor. Motor, Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri envanterine giren ilk özgün hava platformu Turna’nın standart motoru olması planlanıyor. 2001’den bu yana hava savunma birliklerinin eğitiminde kullanılan Turna, bugüne kadar yüzlerce saat uçuşu başarıyla tamamladı.

İki şirket çalışmalarını ilerleyen yıllarda Türk mühendisleri tarafından tasarlanan farklı insansız hava araçlarında da sürdürülmesi hedefleniyor.



Özel sektörde filolar büyüyor

Türkiye’deki özel havayolları filolarını büyütmek üzere harekete geçti. Kiralık olarak alınan uçaklarla yaz sezonuna daha güçlü girmeyi planlayan Antalya merkezli Sky Havayolları, filosundaki 737 serisi uçakların yanı sıra altı adet Airbus A320 ve A321 tipi uçak alıyor. İç hatlarda tarifeli uçuş hazırlığı yapan Sky, haziran ayından itibaren üç adet A320 ile bir adet da A321, yıl sonunda ise iki adet A320’yi filoya katılacak.

İzmir merkezli İzair, filosundaki üç adet A319’a üç adet de A320 ekliyor. Bu uçakların yanı sıra iki veya üç adet daha aynı tip uçak almak üzere görüşmeler sürüyor.

Saga Havayolları da filosuna önümüzdeki aylarda katmak üzere ILFC finansal kiralama şirketinden iki adet Boeing 737-800 almak üzere anlaşma yaptı.

Antalya merkezli Corendon ve Kıbrıs Türk Hava Yolları da filolarına yeni uçaklar katmak için çalışmalarına devam ediyor.

Sky Airlines is an airline based in Antalya, Turkey. It is a charter airline operating services for its parent tour operator and other tour operators between Turkey, Europe, South America and the Middle East.

The airline was established in 2000 and started operations in 2001. It is owned 100% by the Kayi Group

Cyprus Turkish Airlines

Cyprus Turkish Airlines Limited (Turkish: Kıbrıs Türk Hava Yolları Ltd. Şti. (KTHY)) is a Turkish airline that refers to itself as the 'national airline' of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and is based in northern portions of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. It operates scheduled services from Nicosia to several airports in Turkey and the UK (via Turkey), as well as charters to destinations in Europe, mainly United Kingdom, via Turkey. Its main base is Ercan International Airport.[1]

Although it is de jure registered as a Turkish airline in Istanbul, in practice day to day operations are run from Nicosia, Northern Cyprus. All services to Europe are operated via Turkey due to the Cyprus-Conflict.

The airline was established in December 1974 and started operations in February 1975. It was previously known as Cyprus Turkish Airlines. In 2005 the Turkish government sold its shareholding in the airline to Ada Havayollari. It is now owned by Ada Havayollair (50%) and Konsolide Fonu Inkisaf Sandigi (50%) and has 726 employees (at March 2007)

Destinations

Cyprus Turkish Airlines operates the following services (at February 2008):

Domestic scheduled destinations: None.

International scheduled destinations: Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Dalaman, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Istanbul, İzmir, Trabzon and via Turkey: Birmingham, London (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted), and Manchester.
