Should tell them that they could save money (flight by easyJet in this case) and time (car parking, check-in and security check having no, or very little, queues at LPL) by flying from Liverpool.

Woody I do my own travel these days as I am sick of the official agents wasting my employers money and my time by routing me in stupid ways and going on expensive airlines - then I just charge the expenses back. As long as I can prove I got a better deal than the agents could - and don't charge their £25 booking fee (!!!!!!!!!!!!! for an internet booking, I ask you) it's okay. Also, make them pay your futureforrests carbon nuetralisation tax on each flight - it's not acceptable for companies to be flying people to Paris and not paying around £20 per return leg on nuetralising the carbon. I'm sorry, but I hate Manchester Airport as much as I hate Heathrow, I'd do anything to avoid it, it's a hell hole. No travel clerk has the right to make you go there. |

Reported in todays Daily Post that Passenger numbers rose 11% in October compared with the same month last year.
Other local airports show a 68% rise at Blackpool and a 3.1% fall at Manchester. |

Liverpool JLA
The JLA thread keeps getting locked and it is a mojor part of Liverpool soplease keep it open. A few weeks back someone said the work to the right of the main entry road by speke hall was more car parkin, looking on the MP 2030 there is a new apron there, also there is a lot more machinery than what you would expect from a car park

To save someone copying my post on NWAN here it is:
As I understand the Knock stop, at the moment its just an application to gain permission for the Liverpool/New York JFK service to stop there en-route. But I cannot see anything other than passengers being put off by this routing even though it looks as if its only three per week out of the daily flights. I also see that for the Liverpool/JFK route: * they intend to carry passengers between Liverpool and JFK, Knock and JFK AND ALSO Liverpool and Knock. * seating capacity is approx 183 per flight and are aiming to sell 164 per flight which is 90% of the total. * revenue is forecast to be $25.3million in the 11 months of operation with expenses being $24million, which produces a profit of $1.3million.

hmmm, that doesn't sound very good, does it? It's not really a direct service if you have to put down in another airport en route, it's not just that it's bound to add an hour or so to the time, but it introduces added risk of delay depending upon what is going in in Knock. Also, it's environmentally very damaging as a lot of the fuel burn (and therefore pollution) is required to get the plane up from the ground to cruising altitude. I'm not very confident in Flyglobespan, and hope they can be taken over or sort themselves out a bit. |

Just another point.
Is the airport site the second biggest in terms of numbers of employees after the city council in Liverpool? |

I bet the Universities are far bigger employers / sites if you look at the entire campus areas.

Yeah, I'd say the Royal and Liverpool PCT and probably Aintree would be a bigger employer.
