No problem. They're from Todd McKinley, known as Tmac on SSP. He's a popular local photographer.

By Steven Oberbeck

The Salt Lake Tribune
Updated Jul 2, 2010 11:48PM

Salt Lake City, UT - Questar Corp. is getting ready to move from its long-time headquarters building in downtown Salt Lake City to new digs four blocks away.

The energy company, whose Questar Gas Supply utility provides natural gas for most Utah homes and businesses, will be the anchor tenant in a new $45 million downtown office building to be built on State Street between 300 South and 400 South. The new structure is expected to have retail and restaurant space on the ground floor.

City Creek Center

A redevelopment of two 1/2 blocks or 25 acres of downtown SLC with a mixed use development. Currently under construction. It will be built in phases. Phase 1 includes the two biggest blocks shown. Phase 2 will be the half block to the right of the rendering.

Siteplan

Also note that the tall all glass tower does not currently exist downtown. my guess is that its proposed as part of this project. Also note that the tower close by it, half glass and half wood in the model has been reduced to the tower 2 listed below.

Rocky, the tallest is only about 430 feet. We could definitely use a 600+ footer.

The city itself is only at about 183,000. The metro and surrounding area is around 2.3million. The city limits are quite small.

Harmons breaks ground on downtown grocery store
July 8th, 2010 @ 6:50pm, By Richard Piatt

SALT LAKE CITY -- A key component of Salt Lake City's downtown City Creek project broke ground Thursday. It's the first step toward a full-service grocery store in the downtown core, something that's been missing for more than a quarter century.

A crew broke ground on the new Harmons store at 100 South and 200 East. There are a lot of people who are excited over a grocery store coming in here, but it's not just any grocery store. The folks at Harmons traveled around the world to get ideas about what would work in the downtown spot.

The first shovel of dirt for the new Harmons is the last groundbreaking of the entire City Creek project. By next fall, a full-service Harmons will occupy the spot -- a key part of the City Creek Project.

Daybreak, a large master-planned 'new urbanism' type of community in the Salt Lake suburb of South Jordan, has shown some great design as of late:

SOUTH JORDAN — University of Utah Health Care is bringing a new facility to the outskirts of the Daybreak-planned community at the foot of the Oquirrh Mountains.

With the Bingham Canyon copper mine looming above, officials broke ground Tuesday for the 208,000-square-foot primary, specialty and emergency health center, which will include outpatient examination rooms, four operating suites, a pharmacy and a 24-hour emergency room augmented by an AirMed helicopter landing pad.
