Amazing Thread.
I cant think of another city that has made a complete 180 degree turn the way NYC has in the last 20 years. |

Swivel, your work belongs in an exhibition. Lots to think about. Yeah, things have changed for the better in places like Harlem with gentrification and all but there's a LONG way to go. 125th Street is still a mean street, and you don't see many non-white faces in west and central harlem. It makes you realize just how racially segregated our cities are. The occasional tourist in Lennox Avenue doesn't change much.

It's a pretty provocative collection of pictures, if I may say so. It's so incredible. |

American slums have become more dispersed over suburban locations now. While inner cities such as NYC,LA,CHI,DC and SF look different, its mostly because its been pushed and spread about to places such as Yonkers, San Bernadino, Harvey, PG County, or Richmond. You'll probably never see the inner city like this again in our lifetime.

These pictures are really stunning, shocking and give hope to the cities that have very similar problems.

very emotional ride, depressing seeing people homeless and lying shot on the street, doing drugs, glad things have changed for those people

Well, when the richest country also has one of the greatest wealth divides in the industrial world, one that's growth continues to accelerate... this is what happens.

are you kidding? There are still millions in the streets, maybe not in NYC, but in other cities. Even in NYC, there are still people living like this. Just becuase the city overall has gotten better, doesn't mean the lives of the least fortunate did. They likely got left behind, or just pushed out by gentrification. Just becuase you don't here about it anymore doesn't mean that things have suddenly gotten better for these people and that now everything is happy for everyone.
