You appear to be creating a highly centralised autocracy/dictatorship... Ever thought about communism? It didn't work in Russia but damn we can make it work here! . If we have to do it that way, I vote Paulmat for jester. Honestly, thinking he could be a mod...

Better organisation will help prevent newbies posting duplicate of thread lower down the page, as happened recently with Leopold Square.

Though would I be right in thinking that if one wanted to, one could still have all the threads of one page?

I do think however we should stop being quite so strict over making threads. If you have an idea for one, just check it's not been done and go for it. Being to strict make the forums nearly as bad as if they were filled with loads of random crap threads.

The seperate Skybar works for those, Questions or random ideas that make a discusion that stops and starts, becomes amajor discusion or sinks to oblivion.

Looka t Hull trying to run a Area as one long thread that they put every thing in so thers no idividual projects so new people or visitors do not see much past discusion, so developments people are interestded in they canot without reading all the wafle see the renders etc and follow the history of one development.

Its like some discussions we have were we go off topic, and really a separate thread discussion in skybar would be better IMO.

I've no problem with paulmat being mod as he is one of the fixtures of the forum. (but not the only one )

But does any one else volunteer for the post. :
Last time there was a discusion AndrewC was also up for being Mod

We don't even know if we'll get a mod yet, so it's a bit early to start deciding on who.

But since we are deciding, we might as well make it me.

If we're allowed to do it, it might be quite interesting and fun for 4 or 5 "candidates" to all run and then have a poll to see who becomes the mod?
That way we have a proper little democracy and the mod has the respect of the other forumers from the outset?

Don't know how practical it would be though as I don't know how you'd stop people from other cities voting etc. but just a thought...

Those who actively seek power should never be given it. Rather, it should be bestowed upon those with the humility to use it wisely.

You may be right wendi! What I love is the fact that - right or wrong - you have the chance to express your views in an open forum free from intimidation, racial hatred and religious oppression.

I guess thats just the kind of leader I am!

Anyone got any idea what's happened at Meadowhall.

Coming back from the match on the train it said it wasn't stopping at Meadowhall due to the police. Then i've just heard on Radio Sheffield that there was an individual acting in a bad manner and was arrested.

Must have been something serious...

There has been a bomb scare, (or an actual bomb) on an express bus. All the roads and meadowhall has been affected.

Trains are affected, trams are terminating early.
sounds like a massive mess..

BBC Radio Sheffield were being very cagey about it, and I couldn't find anything about it on the interweb...

News blackout on this one, even the tittle tattlers on the Sheffield Forum seem to have been silenced. V V strange and I can't believe our media have become so totally toothless. Ironic, considering there's wall to wall coverage of how the awful Chinese are not letting any journalists report on the Tibetan riots.

the fact that there is a media blackout on it is actually more frightening than the event
