We will assume you meant HOOD, not hound. lol

I guess 'technically' you are correct that they are not gargoyles

From Wiki:

Although not designed to drain water and therefore technically not gargoyles, the grotesques on modern structures are still considered by most people to be gargoyles. Grotesques were used as decoration on 19th- and early 20th-century buildings in cities such as New York (where the Chrysler Building's stainless steel gargoyles are celebrated), Minneapolis, and Chicago. Gargoyles can be found on many churches and other buildings.

This is my favorite scraper since the era of chrysler, esb, woolsworth, etc. Amazing!

Finally, an ornate use of modern materials in a tasteful manner, on a skyscraper scale.

I still wanna know the plan on how to wash the windows! Looks like a nightmare, but maybe they have some special contraption designed to ride on the flat surfaces and move in and out to reach each window?

You are either being sarcastic, or didn't understand the complexity. Take another look at the building.

So glad you're back! No one keeps us as well informed on New York's projects as you did!

It may have been a little tongue n cheek but never the less I could easily see them using a couple single man rope descent systems over trying to design some elaborate automated roller rig.

You mean like they did with the Burj Kahlifa before the real system was working? There must be some regulation/rule in the USA about doing that!

This tower is the building equivalent of tricia Helfer, the "photogenic"concept incarnated !
