Gosh, a big apple in the big apple...won't be a good idea... but don't say it, otherwise sooner or later there will be some architct out there with no fantasy who might pick up your idea!
I found that there is more than one "windy city" explanation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_...2Windy_City%22
What about replacing madison square garden with big apple dome

Mud777, I am glad you finally find out why Chicago is called the windy city. :-)

Oh my Gosh, your idea's for NYC won't work out. But if you immigrate to Europe, I am sure they will be glad to take your idea up to a new level. They are already buiding a giant Cheese in Madrid, so, am sure sooner or later, somebody will come up with the plan to build a giant appale in Paris (Normandy produces most and best apple cider!), or maybe A huge giant apple covering Amsterdam protecting it from the many rainfalls we have here, as Dutch love to eat Apples!

Charlotte, I am going to take one for the team and ask you to please stop posting your off-topic nonsense on here. This thread is about Beekman Place and not the windy city, big apples, big cheese wheels, apple cider, normandy, paris, amsterdam, or any other crap you happen to be thinking about. I have had enough of your bantering on this and other threads. Please don't make me follow you around on different threads and remind you to stay on-topic.

It's not always up to the architects. Frank Gehry's original plans were to have the south side wavy just like the rest of the tower. But the developer shelved that as a cost-cutting measure.
