Aqua looks good from all angles, despite the effect being more noticeable and the building looking more and more amazing only as you get closer on ground level, this building's flat side just looks so stupid at any distance because of the rest of the building's cladding.

I think thats the first time that you can start to get the effect from the cladding from a long distance. With all do respect, the Aqua only gives its wave effect from up close. The flat south side gives a good idea of the height of this building, though maybee not as impressive, still quite nice! This is going to be "Must see"!

Very dense but seriously lacking in Supertalls. It's an embarrassment that New York should allow itself to be outdone the likes of any other city on the planet.

Well Freedom tower will be a supertall, in fact there are 3 supertalls planned on the WTC site alone. They will come eventually, I know the skyline looks so empty right now. It's screaming "supertall". Heck, I can hardly pick out the Empire State Building in that shot...

not to mention the other four supertalls: WPC (excavation, u/c soon), the gira sole (excavation, u/c soon), tower verre (approved, they are still deciding what height it will be), 155 West 57th Street (u/c, final rendering not yet released). wtc1 and wtc4 are both u/c, wtc2 and wtc3 will follow soon (~ in 2 or 3 years when the economy catches up). so there should be no more worries about nyc! (except for the NIMBYs who are very powerful and can destroy projects.)

Well duh, our two tallest buildings were knocked down by arab terrorists, there isn't really too much of a lack, maybe right now but not in a few years, especially since there are more supertalls than ever planned for the city. The ESB alone is tall as holy shit balls.

None the less I think NYC could use a really tall building. I mean like something over 2000ft. Beekman is awesome, dynamic, and futuristic, but I just would like to see something taller.

Sorry but that can't happen as there is a height limit of 2000 feet imposed by the Federal Aviation administration.

NYC has 4 supertall. And you wont find a city anywhere with more buildings over 500 feet

Buildings can bypass that, I don't know why everyone thinks that's a reason towers taller than 2000 feet can't be built? Although it's less likely to happen in New York, because of a large amount of air traffic.

They uselly don't fly over manhattan. Both of the city airports are in Queens. If air traffic was a problem there wouldn't be supertall in NYC. And what 1776 feet to 2000.

Yeah but I thought there was an issue over building taller in New York. I don't remember where I read it. It could happen, I don't know.

Not sure, it's supposed to top out in November. Probably about 10 floors left.
