I sort of dislike the flat roof, would have been better if the waves sort of petered out into the sky if anyone knows what I mean.

I do. I think I agree as well; even more in this case than with Chicago's Aqua.

Not Gehry's best work by any stretch. Undulating panels on an ordinary box? Bleh.

Ordinary boxes dont have multiple setbacks, different floor plates on every single floor, and 3 separate tiers. Just because it has a flat roof in no way makes this just an ordinary box. This building is a one of a kind masterpiece that belongs in no other city than new york.

I'm not totally convinced by this tower... generally prefer Gehrys low rise stuff which is stunning.

I'd prefer it if the old WTC towers were rebuilt or the Singer Building reconstructed.

I love this building, but I do agree that it would be fantastic if the Singer Building were rebuilt! It had beautiful architecture.

Gehry doesn’t really do skyscrapers, so this would be all new territory. It is for all purposes a work of art.

beekman tower is just beautiful. we would need such a tower in hong kong! maybe a chinese city takes over gehry's design and increases the height (~ 350m would be fine) to be at least a supertall. i wouldn't be surprised if this really happens in the next few years.
