Id say 2 more mechanical floors to go on top where the extra tall windows will go. This is the most beautiful building I have ever seen Im so happy its in nyc, lets hope it has a great lighting scheme to go along with those tall windows on top and the setbacks.

Not sure what this means, BUT it looks like this one could be going taller! Got this from Wired New York!

That sounds like a few extra floors to go. Whatever is up now must be the roof of the 75th/floor of the 76th and these remaining floors will go from there.

Im sure everything is going as planned you cant just add floors on a building like this because of how detailed it is.

It's do-able if they incorporate the additional floors into the design well. This is nowhere near completion so the original design can be altered to accommodate the additional floors in a much more subtle way.

This is looking stunning, though. Easily one of my favourite foreign skyscrapers under construction right now.

Maybe they want to break 900 feet? If there is room to put on more floors then there is always the possibility of them doing that. Or perhaps they want to add a crown to the top, as many people have suggested they should do. Who knows, but the building is now scheduled to top out in December 2009. That means at least another month worth of construction.

On SSP NYGUY was saying that they never gave an official height for the building, so it's possible it could go higher than 876ft. They can do 2 floors a week, and it's now scheduled to top out in December. That could mean 8-12 new floors, on top of the 75 already complete. If they did 10 more floors, let's say 8 feet per floor, that could add 80 feet to what's already there. If you add 80 feet to 876 feet, you get 956 feet. 85 floors, that sounds about right to me. The last three floors may also be slightly taller than the ones below them, so it's possible it could reach to 975 feet. But I would be shocked at 1,000, that is a real game changer. And I would think the city would need more time to consider something a 1,000+.

I doubt we'll see 85 floors. But that would be cool. Dept of Buildings has conflicting heights reported, some documents say 876, some say 867. That's usually height to the highest occupied floor. I think we'll see either one or two mechanical floors on top. Maybe 880-900 feet in height. Top out is scheduled for December, but keep in mind, most construction companies consider top out when the full "roof" is 100% finished. Thus Beekman could reach its final height sometime this month, but the actual completion of the roof probably won't be finished until sometime in December.

Possibly, but 3 new crane sections have arrived on site. That's a lot crane. And from the sounds of it they could be starting a 4th "setback", if the construction approval is for real. I don't know, if there are supposed to be 76 floors and are on 75 right now, but there are 3 more crane sections...I guess we'll wait and see. At the rate this building is going it shouldn't be long until we find out.

good news! i think beeman will crack the 900ft but a supertall seems unrealistic though. and yes, they should put a beautiful crown on the roof!
