Developers were going to reclad that one, but that plan is on hold since the financial crisis. Something will happen to it eventually though, everyone hates the building. This is the pending plan:

it's off topic but i love the Verizon building the narrow windows the verticallity, it stands out!!! it would be terrible if this building is transformed in one of a dozen glass buildings.

I believe it's on hold pending the outcome of a lawsuit over the rights that the city granted the builder in exchange for revenue back in 1972. The original plan was for a smaller building and when the developer exceeded the plan, they did so without paying anything extra to the city. The city wants those backpayments.

Meh, I think that it would be alright if it didn't have that ridiculous logo. Seriously, logos on buildings look super tacky.

no verizon looks like my old dusky PS2, but Goldman Sachs looks like my PS3 so thats a up grade right there. And Beekmen well I don't know but it's out of this world, that why I love it.

Actually it is in the design as well, the building had to be sculpted to work with the cladding.

verizon is more like an N64 or even like an early fax machine. Everytime I cross the Brooklyn Bridge I cringe when looking right, grin when looking left. I hope the matter is resolved cause the building is one of the worst ever.

I took this on new years eve.
