The cladding is flying up now. Seems like a new floor every day.

The cladding should be done by March or April. As for completion, not till next year. A lot of internal work to be done yet.

my guess is that beekman has 76 residential and 3 mechanical floors (the top ones). in total: 79 floors. the final height should be about 900ft. but this is just an estimation, we still need conformation!

PS: try to count the floors from the previous pics ...

When I've counted them altogether I get 77 stories tall. The top concrete mechanical floor being 75, the next one above 76, and then the parapet as 77. Mind you the last floor is not actually a "floor".

The thread title should be changed to 76.

i see, i'll count again. and yeah, i counted the last floor as a 'real' floor. so i get 78 then. do you think that the height given here is still accurate?

EDIT: i sent a request to change the title.

NY Dept of Buildings has the height listed as 867 feet. That's "usually" the height to the highest occupied floor. But not always. I know DoB has the height for the Bank of America tower around 880 ft, I can't remember it's actually roof height. That tower is listed as 1,200 ft by CTBUH with it's spire.

Other buildings report their full height, like Trump World Tower (861 ft). The top floors of that building are mechanical.

Why would a developer say their building is 876 feet when it's really 900+? That doesn't make any sense. Why would you hide the true height?

Maybe their will be a revision in the future. Chicago's Aqua and Trump Tower "grew" after they finished. Beekman could as well.

--BofA is 945ft by roof, SSP confirms that. --

yeah i know what you mean, i was asking that myself! i think when beekman is completed, they will change the height. but for now we can only speculate, which has no sense at all.

I think 867 feet is the height to the top of the 76th floor. Then the extra 9 feet is the parapet. Though it doesn't look like a mere 9 ft.

yeah, the 'problem' is that beekman looks taller than all the other towers in lower manhattan, even without a spire. the article about the topping off ceremony also confirmed the height of 867ft. but of course as we all know they continued to build on the roof (mechanicals and the parapet wall). i guess we have to wait, no big deal as it is fun watching the cladding going up!
