Cheers jrb, that's great. I suspect that the hotel doesn't yet have an owner, and the office development is probably speculative.....?

It wouldn't bother me if it looked exactly as the above renders, especially when you think of whats there at the moment. I quite like the office part, and the hotels OK.

Is this something you know about but can't really talk about?

I dont think i'm giving too much away by saying that the city favours this area for any tall buildings. I know of two un-named developers who have asked for separate schemes on two different sites both of which were tall-ish. Not sure of actual heights but some big names were attached but i think the developers have got cold feet because one of the big names hasnt heard anything since they drew up the scheme.
Allegedly!

Anything that matches the height of CIS will make me smile.

Does anyone know if CIS will realistically sell off thier carpark to make way for another development?

My god, Miller street could be epic. Nothing like it in the UK.

If someone offers them enough money they will sell it.

The co-op have a land surplus in the city centre and would be glad to get rid of a lot of land and buildings. Despite their cuddly image they are pretty ruthless but arent property developers and i'm sure would be glad to pass on any land they have (for the right price) car park or no car park. Besides they can take spaces in Shudehill car park and i'm sure any new 'scrapers will have a multi storey attached.

Cladding on the hotel sounds like it will be similar to the Barbirolli Square offices.

Looks like the Ciy Park website has had a slight update. Nothing exciting though.

When I worked for Accor Hotels about 4 years ago they were being offered a hotel by a developer at this site. It was going to be a Novotel or Ibis this was after the Portland St complex was built and would be in addition as their city centre sites have a very high occupancy rate.
