Проекти та будівництво

На въезде в Киев может появится 65-этажка
http://dn.kiev.ua/social/Etazherka13.html

Are there any renderings of the building anywhere?

Note that if it gets built, along with the Independence Tower, Kyiv was have two 60+ story tall skyscrapers.

This is not a rendering but a building in Chicago which will be used as a model for this one in Kyiv:

Hmm... i'm not so sure how fond i am of that new proposal for independence square... I liked it at first, but when ppl mentioned it, I agreed that it just doesnt really suit the area... I think a really nice new grand looking hotel would be great... it would have to have a somewhat classical look to suit the surroundings though.

But the one that is based of the Chicage one would look nice for kyiv depending where in the city it will be located.

Nate,

I think you still don't understand the location where Independence Tower is suppose to get built. There is nothing historical about that part of Kyiv, it was entirely destroyed in 1941 and never rebuilt. What we see today are for the most part buildings built during stalin rule, after the war. The today's historical residential part, is called Podil. You won't even see the Independence Tower from there.

And historically, it is important to place a very tall building in that location. I've explained why before.

Finally, it is meant to be symbol of Ukraine and our Independence. Naturally, future skyscrapers will be built pretty far from centre. Which is perfect, it will make Independence Tower stand out. If you surround it by other skyscrapers, it won't be a recognizeable symbol anymore.

Stas,

I do understand where it is being built, and I also understand that it isn't the true historic part of Kyiv. But nevertheless it wouldnt suit the surroundings at all.

I love the idea of the tower though, its wonderful, and would be beautiful in Kyiv. I would love to see it go up, but im just not so sure it would be the best idea for it to go there.

I dont think there is any open space in that area to really build anything is there? are they just going to demolish the older buildings to build new ones? I dont really think that is going to happen, so i dont really see big tall buildings really going there.

The project is approved.

If you look at the last pic, you can see that there is a serious of more construction to be done around it. These are medium cost hotels, I think. On the opposite of the is the southern railway station:

So the location is pretty important. That's the first thing what people arriving to Kyiv from east will see.

I still don't know what I think about it. It does look somewhat Korea-Hong Kong-Japanish and I'm not sure whether it's a good or bad thing. It's exotic for Ukraine, that's for sure.

And it will probably make a weird first appearance to those arriving to Kyiv.
1.) Ultra-modern super-puper railway station
2.) A church in front of you
3.) Asian-looking weird highrise on the left

Administrative, office-building proposed

First it was proposed as 24 story building but city administration voted to make it short, because of the location, which is close to a Church.
