The trafford centre is awful but the interiors work well in making people want to spend money and haven't aged really.

Malls are generally awful, but they do their job. At least it's out of town, relatively, rather than being in the city centre, that would be heinous.

A few from the more ... authentic ... area of Manchester

Whitworth St area

St Mary's Parsonage

Castlefield, with the Beetham acting as a metaphor for Manchester

Irwell River Walk (River Park City). Bearing in mind that the picture is taken on the Salford side, wheras the buildings in the background are Manchester. Different cities indeed..

Chopin statue in Centurion Square (or whatever it's called)

Town Hall, late night early morning;

Nice pics of Manchester Vold, I never knew there was the Chopin statue in that square

@ arron I agree about Trafford centre, very American style of shopping, not for me, infact I feel its like a piece of Vegas been dropped in Manchester, But the dome is very impressive from inside, if just for the scale of it, still tacky though

The Chopin statue was revealed last year and paid for by the Polish community in the city, to commemorate a time he was apparently in the city as a bit of diplomacy. Unfortunately it is a really bad piece of sculpture.

If it's any consolation, there's an incredibly shite one of Brunel down here

I like the Trafford centre interior; it's like the ghost of Liberace queefed on Bluewater.

This image demonstrates why we need a massive overhaul and rationalisation of street furniture here. Not sure how much this can claim to be a streetscape photo, but I can see a ship in the image- but I had to look beyond all those signs and lamposts to see it! Get rid of the clutter!

Grainger Street is a good example of what our cities need to aim for I think. Lamposts mounted from buildings, minimal furniture at street level.

I think the amount of clutter seen on that photograph is down to how busy the street is - in terms of traffic - and where the camera has been positioned. Having been down that road several times in the past, I don't think it's that bad for street clutter.
