Great building! I hope it's built! here's larger, but worse quality image of the first render. if you squint your eyes and move further away from the computer, It looks more clear

someone on ssp said

"One Bayfront Plaza is going to go before the Planning Board on May 16th. Here are the stats:

70-stories, 1049 feet tall, 850 hotel rooms, a whopping 2,124,000 sqft of office space, 120,000 sqft of "exibition/banquet" area, 112,000 sqft of retail space and 2560 parking spaces. It is expected to cost Tibor Hollo $1.3 Billion to build it.

On the FAA issue the City states that the building does not comply with the MD Aviation Dept height ordinance. It states the current height allowed by the MDAD is only 949 feet at that location, and that the County would need to pass an ordinance to allow taller buildings."

and
"the City of Miami approved the project on Wednesday with conditions. The next hurdle would appear to be with the Miami Dade Aviation Dept. & the FAA on the height of the project."

Yes MDguy! The squinting and moving further from the 'puter screen worked. It's a beautiful design and I'm loving the tall pod-shape jutting out from the base.

I enlarged the smaller render, but not by much:

***BTW Emporis has a has different design and smaller in height for the proposal, although still 70-storeys. Check it out HERE

Looks great but why does it cost so much to build?

I'm not a follower of the design, but the height sounds great. A minor design change IMO and get this baby off the ground.

This is a great looking project, and I really hope this one gets built. Much better than Empire World Towers. However, the newspaper article lists the project's height at 1,049 Ft, not 1,180 Ft.

Miami is long overdue for a beautiful wavy tower like this. Definitely signature material.

Yeah they are decreasing the size so the building can have a better chance of getting approved.

Miami definitely need a tower like this. You don't know maybe this will be the start of a supertall buildings trend in this city
