Movilla, this is the funniest post I've read all year. Finally, someone who appreciates skyscrapers AND has a sense of humor.

^good question.lol
when it reached lev80 last week the official word from builders plans said it had reached 277m or just over 900ft. but ssp says 284m and i worked out it was closer to 296m.
so somehwere between 277m-296m, say 286m? lol

It's hard for me to imagine this building being more than twice it's current height. That's just amazing.

or nearly 3 times if rumours of 800m spire height are true. it really is unimaginable! 2007 is going to be best time to watch this beast rise!

i think this is what we call evolution.....& adaptation New challenges -- New heights...
I observe it daily from its feet & every perspective of the building amazes me every second.....

Make no mistake about this one they are going for maximum height. Several Emaar officials stated in the past that BD will be over 800m. One even claimed the foundation can hold 950m. I believe that BD will be between 830m and 860m. The 705m height in my humble opinion was old and won't hold. The top floor will probably be 630m to 650m, maybe more. The top of the structural portion NOT including spire will probably be 750m or so as per Culwulla's model diagram. A final push for over 900m can only happen with final extra tall spire above the structural portion.

Maximum height here. Remember this one.

An image timelaspse upon completion would cap the construction phase off. It's ashame there is not a permanent web cam, as it would be alot easier to do.
