ZZ,
At this point I definitely have it at 295m or so as Culwulla was maintaining. No way 275m. Clearly above Millenium's 280m hands down. It is 4 to 5 meters short of 300. At 305m this building hits exactly 1000 ft tall and that is a mini milestone in itself. At the end of it all I maintain between 830m and 860m. Somewhere I have read that they won't even announce the final height until opening day. Just imagine this. BD can hit its full height and there is really no way of telling how high it really is. There is nothing in the city or anyplace else on earth, including the CN Tower, to compare it with. Once the spire is fully attached, it is anybody's guess as how high it really will be. Think of it this way, can you tell the difference between 800m and 850m? If you can it will be a challenge. Lotta fun, lotta fun.

for the rest: hmmm, really disappointed that there was no facading today... (really looked forward to it ). But the photo update from Imre was perfect !! (it compensated it a little bit )

Incredible update! It's an monumental edifice already, dwarfing the Great Pyramid many times over.

I agree. Based on my measurements when I visited last month and the addition of the new mechanical levels I put it around 288m to the top of L81.There are means and ways of getting quite accurate readings, even at that height that will become even easier when the glass goes on! For my measurements I used a tripod mounted Stanley-Bostitch FatMax TLM 300 Surveyor Tru-Laser Distance Measurer along with manual slide rule compass meter. Aligning base to top at a known distance I could get a very accurate reading within a half a percent. Slugbelch at SSP has constant updates using an updated m/floor equation that's always a fairly accurate bet as to the current height. This is my first post on SSC but have been a forumer on SSP for quite a while now. A big shout out to all of you guys here, especially those who are also synonymous at SSP I've registered here at the request of malec to inform the makers and contributors of The Megaprojects Video that I'm starting a dedicated website about the massive building projects in Dubai and I gathered that this was probably the best thread to catch most of you on. It's a website that will have all of the latest construction updates with content specificly for SSC/SSP forumers, supplied by forumers. An easy to navigate one stop shop for any technical data, updates, photos, videos etc provided by forumers who have their own interest and expertise. So, calling 'flo, Imre, Krazy, STR, malec, Dazz, Altin-D, Smussuw, Dubai-Boy, Raptor, Tom Green, Guy In Dubai, beyond 1000 (...and Slugbelch from SSP) and anyone else who would love to contribute towards this site is welcome to post any ideas they would like to see in their 'wish list' on the sites template that I have made before I start adding the content in the coming weeks ahead. For now there's a dedicated thread at http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=119337 which will handle any questions, thoughts, ideas, feedback and content etc; but wanted all the SSC members to know the site is there and any requests can be sent via the 'contact us' link within the site. It's located at http://www.dubaimegaprojects.com Have fun and I'll check back soon
