Excellent updates. Those larger images really help to show us the mammoth size of the project.

big progress !

GREAT UPDATE COMPARING WITH FEW MONTHS AGO...

AS WE SEE BD STARTED TO APPEAR WITH ITS LARGE AREA AND THE BASE NOW IS MORE PROPORTIONAL WITH THE HEIGHT , BUT AS THE DESIGN TELLS US , THE HEIGHT WILL INCREASE GREATLY BUT THE BASE R CLOSE 2 THE FINAL SHAPE

I think they'll build Bd to the maximum height which is possibility. otherwise Al Burj will be the tallest in some years.

yes great updates imre.amzing stuff.
the mighty burjD is 80 levs and approaching 300m fast.
one thing for sure, the 160 levsl of concrete shell should reach 575m or so. thats nearly double the height it is now.then mast/spire structure will start up and reach 705m? 750m,808m 850m who knows.should be nearly impossilbe to see detail from ground level anyway.

The fastest elevator will be 10 m/sec according to a recent article (I hope is more).

Emirates Towers and Burj Al Arab already have elevators that go 7 m/sec and you fill the pressure change anytime you ride in them aspecially on the way down.

For my measurements I used a tripod mounted Stanley-Bostitch FatMax TLM 300 Surveyor Tru-Laser Distance Measurer along with manual slide rule compass meter. Aligning base to top at a known distance I could get a very accurate reading within a half a percent.

Slugbelch at SSP has constant updates using an updated m/floor equation that's always a fairly accurate bet as to the current height.

This is my first post on SSC but have been a forumer on SSP for quite a while now.

A big shout out to all of you guys here, especially those who are also synonymous at SSP

I've registered here at the request of malec to inform the makers and contributors of The Megaprojects Video that I'm starting a dedicated website about the massive building projects in Dubai and I gathered that this was probably the best thread to catch most of you on.

It's a website that will have all of the latest construction updates with content specificly for SSC/SSP forumers, supplied by forumers.

An easy to navigate one stop shop for any technical data, updates, photos, videos etc provided by forumers who have their own interest and expertise.

So, calling 'flo, Imre, Krazy, STR, malec, Dazz, Altin-D, Smussuw, Dubai-Boy, Raptor, Tom Green, Guy In Dubai, beyond 1000 (...and Slugbelch from SSP) and anyone else who would love to contribute towards this site is welcome to post any ideas they would like to see in their 'wish list' on the sites template that I have made before I start adding the content in the coming weeks ahead.

For now there's a dedicated thread at http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=119337 which will handle any questions, thoughts, ideas, feedback and content etc; but wanted all the SSC members to know the site is there and any requests can be sent via the 'contact us' link within the site.

It's located at http://www.dubaimegaprojects.com

Have fun and I'll check back soon

I am definetly interested in this.

take me on your list and in case you don't have the megaprojects video, i can send you also so that you can upload it on your server (if you have one) it would make it much easier for people to download.

remember it will be a hell of a lot work for you.

you could also contact SSC forumer Bikes who has several Dubai websites up and running, he might want to assist you.

Dear all,

Let me tell you that i have been reading construction updates for month before i decided to subscribe SCS ! You are doing a fantastic job about this incredible BD project. It's always a shock to discover updates and so fantastic pictures. I'll keep on reading all your comments... Good job !

Anyway, i have a question for you. On some of the pictures can be seen big blue metal things every few floors and are attached to the concrete platforms... I hope you know what i mean.

Could anybody confirm what they are used for ? I would say the cranes use these as platforms to dump of take away materials... ?

Thanks in advance.

Krys
