In the rendering it looks quite "in the city" but in the real photos it looks in the middle of nowhere or they are going to build living flats in the zone?
As much as I know, Dynamo are rebuilding the stadium in the same place ( or just refurbishing it? ) and since it's a old stadium it's probably much more central? Can this be a reason they might get the 2nd stadium for the World Cup? |

No, it will be reconstruction of old stadium - oldest in Moscow. They want to remove tracks for Athletics and to lower the level of the field. They have no plans to build second stadium. Dynamo stadium is not so far from the centre. |

I didn't mean a 2nd stadium for Dynamo, I mean the second stadium for Moscow for the World Cup 2018.
I saw on Google Maps it's pretty central ( straight boulevard from Red Square ). And it's a good idea to get rid of athletics tracks if it's no use, this bugs me a lot at the National Stadium, you need binoculars to see over there at Luzhniki. |

Interesting fact about Tushino airfield, the site is constructed stadium Spartak. Tushino Air Field was used to host the free Monsters of Rock concert, featuring Metallica , AC/DC and Pantera to an estimated crowd of 1.6 million people.

Hi WFInsider. I'm English but live and work in Russia and as such am one of the few Englishmen you'll find who's happy that Russia was awarded the right to hold the WC 2018. Anyway, I thought there was a plan now for the Spartak stadium to have an indoor arena tacked on as well? As shown on the small pics at the bottom of this page: Spartak stadium official site.
Don't have time to look out the bigger pictures now - for some reason I can't find them on the site. One of the club official was saying they could switch games having to be played when the weather's bad (of which there'll be more now they're changing the timing of the season), and play at the indoor venue. That page talks about a capacity of 42K. Wasn't there also talk that, if Russia won the bid, they'd get government funding to build to 47K. Any news on that yet? |

There will be an indoor arena near the stadium:
![]() But I remember only about small capacity - 3000-4000. The capacity of stadium will be 42,000-44,000. No exact number yet, as project is in process of developing. |
