I wandered round the site this lunchtime and both gates round the back (east side) were open. The "second core" must be some time off - there was only a hole in the ground visible today.

Nice edit ![]() As it happens, here's a teasing little image from lunch time on Joiner Street on that topic... ![]() There was a little hold-up going on with a crane to get it into position and I couldn't wait around any longer. It may even be in place by now.

Cheers cybertect. At least we know they are close to installation. I’m not sure that they'll have "20" panels in place by the end of the week though.

the rise of the second core is imminent. On my way back past the site this evening i saw the top section of the builders hoist track sticking out of the top of the hole.

Steelwork and core starting to look substantial now and its possible to imagine the taper. The non-core floor plate at the level just below where the core steps in will be pretty small.
Stating the bleeding obvious, but this is going to be very exclusive space for a very long time! You do have to wonder whether TFL can continue to afford to pay what will clearly be very high rents.

I left work a little early and stopped by to take some more pics of the site this evening.
So, here it is, the first installed panels of the external envelope. ![]() ![]() I'll get some more photos up later after dinner. There's a lot of sorting and tagging to do, though.

Thanks for the update Cyber.
Cue the "I HATE THE CLADDING EVEN THOUGH ONLY FOUR PANALS HAVE BEEN ERECTED" squad.

A fairly significant event well captured - are the red supports/braces/tubes an integral part of the design...?

They're the blind boxes. The blinds themselves are light grey.
