Congratulations New York: the building really looks wonderful. It's got industrial power and scale, but a great sleek elegance as well.
Very nice. Can't wait to see it in person.

The spire appears to be as effective in the design as the renderings promised. I'm relieved and impressed to see that!

This tower is great! I've enjoyed watching it go up as I'm riding the bus into the Port Authority Bus Terminal. It looks great in person, especially at night! Good job capturing it in photos, guys!

I love the spire. Not too sure about the design from a distance though...

Are they going to keep building higher skyscrapers towards the western area of midtown, like Hell's kitchen?

It will take a long time, however I believe after the MSG area is built up the city will have no choice but to move west. Maybe in like 15-20 years we'll start to see commercial skyscrapers instead of midrange residential towers.

Well the Upper part of 42nd towards 57th street is currently Zoned lowrise. The lower part of 42nd there seems to be some limits of heights but I think that taller buildings are allowed somewhere in there. Very complicated area.

Anyway soon on 42nd street (to the west of 8th avenue.. what you see in the photo above) all of these developemnt projects are going to happened...

Riverplace II (600 West 42nd Street): 59 floors - 600 feet - 2 towers are Under construction

11 Times Square: 40+ floors - 600 feet - Work is about to start

605 West 42nd Street: 57 floors - Demolition of excisting buildings currently happening

440 West 42nd Street: 60 floors - Probably starting this year

20 Times Square (Bus Terminal Office Tower): 40+ floors - Probably starting this year

It's actually not dead. A construction manager was hired last month and preconstruction starts soon I believe.
