This design is great but I like the Frank Gehry's design better. I don't know maybe I just like buildings with eccentric modern design.

I am a bit disappointed they chose the other one but it's just my opinion.

I fav building design but to bad it was not choosen. Gehry knows how to bring art to buildings just like they used to do it in the old days

That Gehry design is AWFUL, but what else should one expect from an AWFUL architect??

It looks like someone put a giant turd in Midtown Manhattan.

C'mon, he is already an Icon. I guess you have a different taste of architecture then. Some people say he is a genius who thinks different from the other architects while others say he just got a twisted mind. IMHO, the design of his buildings are not familiar to others and maybe confusing just like Picasso. You will only know the ingenuity of such architecture once you get inside that building just like the Guggenheim of Bilbao.

The Gehry design isn't bad at all...I much prefer the current Renzo Piano one, who's a better architect as well to me.

The Gehry design really looks funky...reminds me of a newspaper in fact, with the NY Times logo spread on it:

Various Gehry/Childs designs for NY Times site:
