I just realized thanks to Carlos' pic halfway further up, how close Penn Station was to Times. Boy, if that other project goes ahaead (the Penn Station/Madison Square Guargen thing...), it will really be a CDB of its own. Almost...

I had to say it although I know I'm off the subject here, no need to tell me.

Carlos: NY's official photographer, as usual!!

very simple design...just a vertical tower ;-)...probably no room for extravagant design

sorry but this building turned out worse than it's rendering...and the top is hideous.

Could be a whole lot better... could be a whole lot worse.

I think it looks great in some photos and not so great in others. For example: I think it looks superb in these photos, posted by LLoydGeorge in the River place twin towers thread

Yes, i agree with you, at night time this building comes alive and it becomes "see thru"..those pesty bars seem to dissapear....i only wish the spire and crown were light!!

the subway entrance and shops are still not open and still under construction...

I would have expected the stairs to be in the center core section while leaving the windows (the most valuable space) open for the office space in that corner of the building.

Did they end up skipping floor numbers in this building like I heard a while back? For example - 52 stories but the elevator will show a higher floor than it really is.. simular to numerous resorts in Las Vegas - The Empire tower at NY NY resort is 45 floors but the elevator displays floors above 70.

NO, the elevator cabs reflect the actual floor count

This is definately a tower of the 21st century, i thiink years from now, newer generations will look at this building and give it a lot more credit than we do today

Why wouldn't there be a 13th floor? This ain't China where the buildings actually only have 20 floors but count as 54 due to floor skipping (well maybe I exagerated a bit)
