I think that this building would have been better w/o the spire and the annexed atrium.

They were handing out free copies of the New York Post right outside the NY TIMES building the day I took this.

^ Funny, the 44th floor is the only one still available. Any coincidence with the Chinese superstition that 44 is bad luck?

Is this tower going to have a lighting scheme?

Yes I'm hearing that it's going to make this already amazing tower look better. I have seen those yellow lights installed on the side and I think we've yet to see it fully lit up.

I don't think they ever planned on using the entire tower. I may be wrong, but, at the start of the project, they though they would be able to move into something like 75% of the tower, letting others lease the remaining space to make a profit, but as the tower grew, they needed even more money and decided to put even more floors up for lease.

Turned out quite nice, but the spire is too long I think, it would look better if it was 10-18 meters shorter (to still be a supertall with 301m )...

I don't like this building for one reason. It tosses ice off like a shaking dog in wind after icy storms. One all most hit me a foot away and one fell from the NYT building onto a car on 42nd street......

News flash. Every tall building has ice falling from it at any point.

Man, I am liking it more and more. It's almost a perfect thing to look at since it's bold by standing out the closer you get but somehow fits in as well. You really feem small up close.

Did they ever finally fully light it up? (I may have missed it) It seems like they are taking forever to finish up with that part of the tower. This thread needs pictures of it FULLY lit.

Direction to More Pictures of NYT Bldg

As the building is complete and this thread has run out of steam, where can I get more up-to-date pictures or a forum where I can see current pictures of more details of this building? I've already seen the ten or so official shots on the NYT website. Thanks in advance. KanKan.
