Västtrafik increases the bus commuter traffic between Gothenburg and Borås. Double deck buses every ten minutes in each direction during rush hours.

Saw it today, looks beautiful and much more impressive in real life, the images I've seen of it doesn't do the building justice.

Also very impressed by the new building on Lindholmspiren.

Good news! Borås will be almost a part of the city.

Thanx for the update! Really great to hear about it. I must take a real look at Kuggen soon.

Even in pictures I think Kuggen looks amazing. I think it doesnt matter that it is low either. All landmarks shouldnt be skyscrapers and there are no low landmarks on hisingen either. Eriksbergskranen and the Lindholmcranes are basically the only landmarks on Hisingen and that one is 100 meters high?

Great to hear about Lindholmspiren too. I think Lindholmen is the area which really has great potential on Hisingen. People talk about Frihamnen but I believe that the centre of Hisingen will be Lindholmen in the future.

I think it's because there was such works shedule.. If it would be necessary, there could be sent more workers..
Also do not forget, that on last floor there should be automaticaly sliding sun protection together with the sun, so maybe there is not everything prepared and that why they are not so hurry..

The Kasper Sahlin prize to Gothenburg!

Arkitekturens viktigaste branschpris går i år till Ryaverket i Göteborg som renar avloppsvatten. Anläggningen är utformad som en vattendroppe just innan den spricker.

I was wondering if anyone know anything about the development at Frihamnen (where the warehouse burned down)? I was riding buss 16 earlier today and I saw tarmac (asfalt) being laid down. What's up with that?

Are they building new eyesore-warehouses?

good news

Göteborgs byggmarknad har återhämtat sig efter den lågkonjunktur som utlöstes av finanskrisen 2008. Nu ser det ut som att antalet färdigbyggda bostäder hamnar runt 1.650, vilket är mer än målet på 1.500

Yes, the second building from the left have not started construction yet. The five apartment buildings to the right of that building, one of which you can see being built above (one year old photo), are close to finished. I'm moving into the building right underneath where the construction image was taken.

Looking at the picture above and seeing the tracks on it, has there been any talk in Gothenburg about overdecking the tracks, like there has been about the tracks leading into Stockholm?

Not really, but if Västlänken gets built the above ground tracks leading to the station will be reduced by half at least. They are aslo planning Bangårdsviadukten so cars, trams, and buses doesn't have go all around Centralstationen in the future, and some renders show buildings built over the current platforms.
