Bashundhara City-South Asia's largest mall

Bashundhara City is a 21 storied business centre and a shopping mall in Bangladesh. The complex has a mall, several multiplex movie theaters, a theme park, and business offices. Bashundhara city is the largest shopping mall in South Asia. The mall has space for 2500 retail stores and restaurants and also possesses a large gym (Gold's Gym) and top floor food court along with an indoor theme park. The Bashundhara City building also has rooftops garden and is a brilliant symbol of the emerging city of Dhaka.

I must say, Dhaka looks much more modern and advanced than I thought, but just about as crowded as I thought. It is on my very long list of world cities to visit, but it is near the top.

Anyway, I think the figure of 15 million for the city (from the 1st post) are inflated. I don't know how accurate the Wikipedia stats are, but they say 6.7 million for the city and just under 12 million for the metro area.

It will be roughly 15 million if you count the suburban areas. Plus, the population is growing everyday. Other than births, ten thousand people flock in everyday from villages in search of jobs Dhaka.

Dhaka is expanding at exceptional rate ! Gulshan skyline is getting more and more impressive ! I feel that South Asian economies are growing so strong .

Many ppl have wrong impressions about Bangladesh and its people. This must be corrected . Bangladesh is a very beautiful country , with extremely friendly and hospitable people. The sunsets of Bangladesh are said to be the world's most gorgeous. Dhaka is a strong and emerging town. St Martin Island has wonderful beaches and fine attractions.

Go go Bangladesh !

Dhakaiya what kind of english do you speak, I know that people in Bangladesh speak British english but yours sound like the one that we in the US speak. No offense or anything. Also, you live in Banani? My cousin, Tina Salem, who used to be the talk show host for NTV's Shubo Shonda and Shubo Shokal lives over there. Anyway nice pics, I'm glad that we're keeping the bangladeshi forums alive.
