Lee480, it has been there even before the CCLe opening. It belongs to Alstom managing the DTL side.

Yep, there are workers on that side. They have been spotted along the platform and in the tunnels.

Nice photos, circleline4 and Lee480. :P

*cough*

Erm, some photos from the C916 page. It looks like they've hit hard rock at the excavation stage.

Here's some photos from KAP and SAV. Can see they're preparing for the strut installation at the west corner to proceed to the L2 excavation for KAP. Apparently "some people" from some self professed DTL fan page claimed that SAV has finished D'walling long ago. One thing that's a fact though, is that the camera doesn't lie.

i was riding my bike down Upper Bukit Timah Road, where Hume is, a couple of months ago. The road was blocked for a few minutes as the construction site was doing some blasting below the surface. I could feel the ground shake as the explosion went off. Looks like the Bukit Timah rocks are getting in the way.

It's a common practice to use dynamites when hard rocks are in the way. The surrounding is vacated for that moment and the exposed site is temporary covered while they trigger the explosion below. Few examples I know of is the escape shaft at Pemimpin Place for CCL and BTN DTL, and probably many DTL2 sites with the Bukit Timah foundation. I think this gives us a good gauge on the progress of the Hume box excavation progress. Excavation rate should be comparable to BTN.

Never trust some people who try to advertise their unofficial FB links through Wikipedia. They should use their own Wiki instead.

Also, what does the third photo depict? Reminds me of that robot from Wall-E. Or Wall-E itself.

Any chance that the DTL Tampines Station will be renamed to Tampines Central to minimize confusion for passengers?

There's a chance only the DTL station will be named Tampines Central with the EWL station retaining it's own name.

I think ultimately they will still have to be named as 2 separate stations, connected by an unpaid link. It's still another 6 years before the completion of DTL3 and I don't think that LTA will want it to be the main topic of discussion among the public, like what happened to Bt Panjang. So for now the DTL3 stn will still remain as Tampines in press releases, and TPC as code name.

Come 2017 (after the next election), we will see if the station will indeed be named Tampines Central, meanwhile nobody will be able to see it.

It's not even us. There's a few douchebags in our forums whom seem to be behind these stuff.

I don't want to discount your efforts, but I do think Telok Ayer's shot too many times for me to bother about its progress.

Then why bother posting? If you can't be bothered about it, you wouldn't have posted no?

I think you need to understand and appreciate the efforts of one who goes out under the hot sun and brings us back the latest updates all for the purpose of contributing here, without really asking anything in return, speaking from personal experience. As for why TLA was emphasized by mrtfreak, if you have bothered to look through the photos taken last week, you'd noticed that the green netting covering the face of the structure has been removed, revealing some sort of grey metallic 'wall' used to cover up the 2nd level. Here's last week's photo for a comparison.
