LONDON | Riverside South | 236m | 46 fl | 186m | 35 fl | On Hold

Riverside South
Canary Wharf, London

Riverside South is designed by Richard Rogers, and consists of two towers joined at the base. The tallest tower is 236m, structurally taller than 1 Canada Square by a metre, but lower by AOD height. In terms of commercial floorspace, this will be the largest single office development in Europe.

Current status: Approved. JP Morgan were secured as tenants in August 2008. Prep work is underway, with actual construction starting in 2009.

I don't like the design very much but it fits very well the CW skyline.

How big is it ? isn"t it close to 300 000m² ? Hopefully that won't affect too much much more interesting developements in the city.

230 000m² net!
You meant it will affect interesting developments in the City did you?
It's huge for the Central London office market! I'm more pessimistic than you are on this point.

Canary Wharf sticking two fingers up at the City.

These towers have been around since 2001 I believe. They're a great addition to Canary Wharf, it's a shame they've taken so long to get going.

One thing these will do, and that's stretch the Canary Wharf skyline along the east west axis, making it much more like La Defense from the south and north.

I think it's being re-designed though from the current renders...

Nice picture Chest. From that angle it makes the skyline look a bit heavy on the right hand side.... needs bulking up to the north a little. Still, cant wait for them to be built. Should be able to see them from where I work once they are done!

So, in 2007 London should have U/C:

Leadenhall: 225m
Riverside South T1: 214m

Riverside South T2: 189m
Broadgate Tower: 165m

Pan Peninsula T1: 147m
Marsh Wall: 137m
Willis Building: 125m
+ other 100m+ buildings

Atleast!

And enabeling works starting on the Shard mid next year too!
