That's what she said.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

But I do agree, it's a massive site, with good progress going on! Thanks for all the photos!

The last segment in the centre section was poured today. Also note the last piece of steelwork going in against the Jubilee shaft - they have changed the colour scheme - this last piece is gray.

First slab seen to be ready.

Its time to rise to street level.

I think the construction technique in London is quite unique, Ive neva seen so many piles below the ground during the foundationing

Probably due to the very poor soil conditions under London, its not very suited to skyscraper construction.

Cities like New York have are on a solid layer of bedrock, London is on a soft, marsh like ground.

Hence the huge number of piles needed in most London towers.

They are preparing to pour a concrete band around the jubilee line shaft that the lower level of props will push against (I believe). They have excavated a massive amount of dirt over the last few days. I think that the excavation will be finished in a couple of weeks.

I have also updated the map as best as I can. The Northern end of the basement slab is nearly complete. I'm fairly sure that the next part to be poured will be the Southern end (when we will have to guess which segment is being poured, because it isn't possible to see clearly - maybe Mole will get a chance to take a shot to fill in the gaps).

The empty segment along the river wall is a swimming pool today - lots of dark green water. yuck. And they already laid the rebar, so goodness knows how they will get it all out.
