More than 20 yachts confirm participation for Langkawi Regatta
NewsBreak 2008/11/23 Bernama LANGKAWI, SUN: The Royal Langkawi International Regatta(RLIR 2009) to be held at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club from Jan 4-10, has attracted more than 20 teams already. RLIR Technical Director Ahmad Zailani Bashah said among sailors who have confirmed their participation are from Australia, England, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, France, Belgium, Hong Kong, Holland, Korea, China and Malaysia. “Organisers are expected 40 yachts this year compared to 38 last year, as RLIR had been promoting the event during the 19th Selangor Raja Muda International Regatta (SRMIR) which ended yesterday. “The RLIR this year could also see a strong challenge for the title from Hong Kong yachts especially after having swept the top two places at SRMIR,” said Ahmad here today. Two Royal Malaysian Navy yachts “Zuhrah” and “Parr Platu” would represent Malaysia. |
