if the tables are a bit big its ok, maybe its like a sky restaurant or something.
i think its the guangzhou tower's version of rotating restaurants.

I'm startin to doubt the gravity ride now, don't see it happening. If it was to be inside the spire, it would be no fun for people, it its outside the spire, then it would not make sense...

Why u people questioning the table? london eye only has a bench and that's it LOL

prolly just to play cards or sumthing. Way too small to eat on it and having lunch/dinner in such a cabit is weird. The ride might be too short, which would suck when ur halfway ur dish and it might also be too long and its not that pleasant to have a finished plate there for 30 minutes.

another thing is that they can never make the food fast enough before you get into the cabin. So yea, it's just to put your cards down or to have a drink at most.

Why all this talk about the table? It's just a table period.

Is this built/designed by the same people behind the London Eye?

No need to argue about the table as it is just a rendering, doesn't represent the final design at all

if the spire's width was the same from top to down, then it maybe ok.

the ferris wheel ride seems more like an appropriate idea.

- the ferris wheel installation will begin in December this year.
- it will be completed in February 2010
- testing will end in August 2010 so the system will be open for Chinese National Day 2010
- the capsules can withstand a lightning strike

Now let's just hope that the air quality in Guangzhou gets better :-)

That definitely is cool! But someone need to put an English translation on that. By the way, I wonder what is the capacity of one circle and how long it will take for one rotation? I guess the answer is in that Chinese news then?
