Chinese government has proven itself to be pragmatic and is ready to do things .If they believe it is for the "greater good" . So i am hopeful they will make the necessary changes

Anyway those string of old never ending ugly buildings in China make u suddenly feel as if you are in the future and you are seeing how new york would look after a nuclear bomb exploded on its centre . All those old unpainted dirty looking 5 to 10 storey buildings almost about to collapse .Lets hope they collapse

Have you ever been to the Soho, little Italy and Chinatown in New york? The buildings in those areas are 10 times worse than the appartments on the pics above. As long as these buildings are not located in the Guangzhou CBD, it is not a problem.

Dude there are large scale slum type areas and ghettos across new york .We all are aware of the flith in USA .Lets be frank U.S.A has a 12% of population under the poverty line set by world bank (while china has 15% of its population under the same poverty line according to world bank) .So obviously there are scores of shit like places all across U.S.A.

So it is obvious and logical to assume there are shit like places everywhere. I just think it would be better if they redo those old appartment buildings . Like they did in dalian where they basically painted across those buildings some sort of modern muriels or some kind of artistic graphiti in a very interesting way to make them look kind of good . These 5 to 10 storey ugly appartments are just way toooo many China its a never ending line across every city from Chongqing to xiamen hence mentioning it .

WOW, this picture makes the spire look half the height of the whole tower.

The red and white stripe on the antenna spoils it.

The tower looks weird without an antenna IMO. Just look back a month or two.

The red/white bit is another thing but im glad it has an antenna.

well yeah, i think that's what he was saying. the antenna is essential, as that is what it was initially designed for, but the large red stripes and the square form factor with spikey balconies spoils the entire image. i know international orange is mandatory, but why couldn't they make it somewhat like the CN tower antenna?

When you see pictures of the tower taken miles away, you still see the red and white colours of the spire. So it IS a big deal.
