I thought you might be kidding about the concert venue atop the roof, but I see by the render you weren't. HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!?!

Very imposing pictures of the skeleton rising, love the angles.....very cool structure!!

Since when is a telecommunications and observation tower not a skyscraper?

Does it not appear to be scraping the sky like the 30 story 350 ft "skyscrapers"?

I never understood that.

According to the formal design report, there will be a gravity machine at 500 meters high!

All facilities include
1. A gravity machine at 500m
2. The world's tallest observation deck at 450m
3. 2000sqm double-floor and auto-circumvolving restaurants at 424m
4. Guangzhou TV signal boardcast station at 403m
5. A big garden with multi-levels stairs at 174m
6. A high tech stuff exhibitation room at 91m
7. A 4D cinema at 55m
8. A multi-function exhibitation room at 17m
9. A big exhibitation hall for 1000+ people at 7m
10. An exhibitation room that describes 2800 years of Guangzhou history and culture, at 0m

Wow....really...??

I agree....it's a building if people can ride an elevator up into it. By my rules [which a bunch won't agree with], the CN tower and all other 'needles' are buildings [since when is a restaurant inside NOT considered 'in a building']? While they may not house offices, they still have public places inside, even if it's just an observation deck.

So by my rules, this tower is a building, it has floors and elevators. I know they may not be conventional, buit it's a skyscraper nonetheless.

Argue though you might, my definition is good for me.

Yes...!! Maybe 454m (roof) + 50 (A gravity machine) = 504m

Sorry, I answered the question above, I just wanted to say "it's not a building" in the sense of a "classical" office or residence one.

Of course this tower is a skyscraper

So, sorry for that, I'm unused to write in english and I make often confusions.

No need for an apology skymyhusband, I was just commenting on the word skyscraper.

The gravity machine looks like a spinning disc on the rendering.
I wonder if like this model (from the theme park 'Canada's Wonderland') if it would swing outward from the base?
If so, riding it could look something like this....

Good photoshop job there, really gives you the feeling of how lofty(and nauseating) the ride will be, the ultimate adrenaline rush when you know your half a kilometer up the sky.
