just got the news from local media that the ferris wheel and gravity machine will both be built on the TV tower, the gravity machine will be at around 450-480m

Tons of people in China still get TV through regular airwave broadcasts. Even in Hong Kong, you can still see antennas covering the tops of some apartment complexes, so there is definitely a need for broadcasting.

HD channels can be also broadcast over the air, it doesn't necessary to be a digital digital to get 1080i resolution.

They should put a wire between the two across the river and let people slide across. That would be a hell of a ride! Could be a new tourist attraction.
