Do you mean the project z0rg has listed as a 650m "Baietan District Supertall" in his supertall projects list? It has a note saying "Few chances" in that list, unfortunately.

Recently they have released several articles claiming they'll build a 650m+ tower in Baietan. The few chances thing will be gone in my next update Also the Evergrande tower in Yuancun, around 3.5 km eastwards from West Tower, will be taller than 500m+ according to recent press releases.

Hi Mike.
I was wondering what was happening with the spire lowering. I was hoping it would be jacked back up (even higher - ).
Thing is Cul scaled it out to be 23 meters lower (587). No new pics so they may have made changes and raised it back up to 600 by now.

It would be good to know what is happening, either by pics or articles.

To be honest it does not make much sense. Whether it's 600m or 610m, either way it's faaaar below what a plane should fly above a city with supertalls.

Hi guys.

I can't fathom that at this late date they would be forced to lower the already built spire ...
The would have had to get a developers permit ( I imagine as projects do here in North America) that would have been approved at 610 meters years ago.
There must have been an ongoing battle going on in the background I guess. I agree with Drone except the issue is with planes to and from an airport but what is 10 meters ...
Here there is some obscure FAA gripe about anything over 2000 feet - not that it is written in stone - but it does seem to be adhered to (so far). Crap as far as I am concerned but that is another matter.
For this project let me repeat ... I am dumbfounded that they are being made to lower an already completed structure.

One and a half million bucks so planes can fly ten meters lower, that surely is absolutely worth it.
